Q: What is Cubekind?
A: Cubekind is a 3D online virtual world. Unlike other virtual worlds, you
decide how your Cube looks and what you have in it. The world of Cubekind is not
just for social and business networking. With its many places to visit, things
to do, and games to play, Cubekind is about having fun and exploring too.
Q: What is a Cube?
A: A cube is your piece of the virtual world Cubekind. You can customize and
personalize it in many ways. Here are just a few. Make your Cube a cozy living
room to hang out in, a medieval castle hall for your guild, or a 3D online store
to feature your business. You can add links to web pages and organize events
with your calendar. Art galleries, dance halls, churches, weddings, classrooms
are all possible in Cubekind. It is “Your Cube Your World”. For those who enjoy
creating their own web spaces on sites like Myspace and Facebook, your Cube is a
3D version of a web site. It is where you can express your creativity and share
it with family, friends, and Cubekind.
Q: When will Cubekind be available?
A: Cubekind started a Test Drive on August 18, 2008 and is now in Beta. To try out the Beta, click here. It is anticipated that Cubekind will be available worldwide
near the end of 2008.
Q: How much does Cubekind cost?
A: Cubekind is free and loaded with items to customize your avatar and Cube so
you will never have to buy anything. Special premium items are available for
purchase. For example, the dog and cats are free while the pet dragon and
unicorn are premium items that can be bought with Cubekind Pennies (CP).
Q: How do I get Cubekind Pennies?
A: Cubekind Pennies (CP) can be added to your member account by purchasing them
at Cubekind.com using Paypal, which accepts most types of credit cards and
payment options. To keep things simple, one US dollar is equal to 100 Cubekind
Pennies.
Q: Is there any exclusive membership to Cubekind?
A: While anyone can join Cubekind for free, there is an exclusive
annual membership
called the Grid. The main benefit to joining the Grid is the right to vote in
Cubekind. Grid members also receive a pet dog or cat of their choice, 999
Cubekind Pennies (CP) for spending on premium items, a surprise package, and the
exclusive 'Grid Shirt' for your avatar. A special wall plaque
in your honor will be displayed in your Cube. The annual membership cost for 2008 to join the
Grid is $5.99 before August 18th, 2008, after which time it is $9.99.

Q: Do I have a say in Cubekind?
A: Typically in a game or social networking site, people DO NOT have a say in
what goes on. Cubekind is different. It has opened that process up to its Grid
Members. As new content becomes available to Cubekind, the 'Grid’ members will
vote to establish what people want next. For practical reasons not everything
can be put to a vote but as a Grid Member your votes will be valuable in making
Cubekind what it is.
Q: What do I get in Cubekind?
A: When you join Cubekind, you are given a blank Cube; a clean slate! Add or choose for a selection of ready made cubes. It is up
to you to customize it with the types of floors, walls, ceilings, furniture,
accessories, and special effects you want. Add in your own personal photos,
text, and music for the finishing touches. Giving your Cube a makeover is easy
and fun to do.
Q: Is it hard to customize my Cube?
A: No. Cubekind is designed to be easy to use, requiring no programming
knowledge. Cubekind uses a revolutionary new drag and drop customization system,
so you can change the way things look and move things around as you like.
Q: Can I access websites while in Cubekind?
A: Yes. Cubekind does not interfere with your normal web browsing or internet
use. You can surf and access the internet from within your Cube. There are many
links to websites from within Cubekind itself.
Q: Is my personal information safe?
A: It is your Cube, profile, and personal information. We like to keep things
private, just like you do. You can choose to keep your Cube, profile and
information public or private. What you choose to make public will appear in the
searches of the Cubekind by members.
Q: How do I find out what is happening in Cubekind?
A: Cubekind has a search feature that will list all the public events, open
games, parties, and contests being held. The search feature is also your travel
guide to things to do, where to go, and people to meet in Cubekind.
Q: Are there games to play in Cubekind?
A: Yes. Within your Cube is the games cube which offers a variety of 3D games to
play by yourself or with friends. With Cubekind’s very advanced software,
complex fantasy combat adventures, as well as, simple card games can be created.
Q: I have a cool idea. Can I add it to Cubekind?
A: If you can create 3D models, textures, or games, you can look into becoming a
Cubekind Affiliate. This is a special program which allows developers or artists
to create content for Cubekind.

Q: What computer hardware do I need for Cubekind?
A: At a minimum, Cubekind requires:
Pentium III 733 Mhz
128MB RAM
OpenGL Compatible 3D Graphics Accelerator (32MB recommended)
DirectX Compatible Soundcard
300MB of free hard drive space
Windows XP, 2000, or Windows Vista
Working Internet connection
Q: Will my firewall prevent access to Cubekind?
A: You may need to configure your firewall to allow outbound and inbound traffic
on the ports used by Cubekind
Q: Can I play Cubekind on a Mac?
A: Yes. Cubekind will be setup to use on the Mac until then it can be played using Virtual PC at general release.
